Chilli (con carne) Peppers


Hi everyone, for the fifth and final blog post I will be making one of my favourites... Chilli con carne😋

So far we have tried Italian🇮🇹 Thai🇹🇭 and Spanish🇪🇸 so for the final recipe let’s try Mexican🇲🇽 

Ingredients 

  • 750g beef mince
  • 1 jar chilli cooking sauce 
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes 
  • 1 tube chilli purée 
  • 1 teaspoon garlic purée
  • 2 peppers (diced)
  • 1 pepper (whole)
  • 2 onions (diced)
(side note - feel free to add a tin of kidney beans I'm not because I don't like them 🤧)


Method

The first step is to fry the mince and onions in olive oil until the mince has browned

Next I added the chopped peppers and fried it all for another 5 minutes 

And now to add some colour 🌈 ...

Pour in the cooking sauce🍶 and chopped tomatoes🍅, stir around🥣and leave to simmer on a low heat for 15 minutes. 

Voila! A super easy and simple way to make a tasty dish🤤

I decided to serve mine in a roasted bell pepper, to do so, I removed the top of the pepper and the seeds inside. 

I the put in a couple of spoonfuls of cooked rice🍚, followed by my chilli and a sprinkle of grated cheese🧀



Review 

Despite adding the whole tube of chilli puree (not intended🤭) my chilli didn't turn out as 🥵 as I expected! Still full of flavour but next time I will add chilli🌶 flakes to enhance the spice. Other than that, a super easy and delicious meal.
